Princeton's City Hall complex is located at the eastern end of its historic downtown commercial district. The district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and consists of over forty buildings and points of interest spread over 5 blocks, mainly centered on the city's Main Street.
City Hall is located directly adjacent to the Tourist Welcome Center, which is housed in a renovated c.1899 church. The complex also includes abundant park space, featuring a large lawn, a small wooded area, a September 11th memorial, and a monument to Princeton's founder, Revolutionary War Veteran William Prince.
The newest addition to the complex is Planters Pavilion, a large outdoor venue space featuring multiple pergolas, a fan-shaped stage, a fountain, benches and a landscaped garden.
While City Hall boasts an impressive facade along Main Street, due in no small part to the restored bell towers of the Welcome Center, its entrance faces East Market Street.
